How EMFs Cause Biological Damage and Even Cancer, According to A Toxicology Professor & Expert

EMFs or electromagnetic fields might be something quite unfamiliar to you – but what is sure is that what you can’t see DOES NOT necessarily mean it can’t hurt you.

EMFS are these invisible low or high frequency fields that emit from electrical and wireless devices. Your electricity and appliances like your electric fan, television, and night light emanate low frequency emissions, while wireless devices like your cellphone and modem routers give off high frequency EMFs.

A number of studies have already linked EMFs with several health problems, such as fatigue, headaches, sleeping problems, and digestive problems. Some types of EMFs also cause more serious diseases such as certain types of cancer and autoimmune diseases. In fact, another study established that by shielding EMFs, about 90% of symptoms of autoimmune diseases are reduced.

The Toxicologist Expert and EMFs

It took an expert on toxicology and electromagnetism to admit that low frequency emissions do have an effect on health. Dr. Paul Heroux, a researcher and professor of toxicology and its health effects of electromagnetism at Montreal’s McGill University to figure out what the issue was.

Dr. Heroux started studying the effects of EMFs on the human body for some time. He said that low and high frequency fields, microwaves, electric fields, and magnetic fields have similar biological effects on the human body.

He said that a magnetic or electric field produces the same effect as a battery cell. Even though EMFs do not produce heat, they still cause damage despite what telecommunications companies claim. He added that definitely, there are biological effects to man of EMFs – and may be adding up to our health bills.

60 Hertz impact!

Dr. Heroux asserted that he and his team discovered that EMFs as low as 60 hertz (Hz) can already drastically affect the development of cancer cells, increase the risk of a miscarriage, or even impair fertility. In fact, even as early as 1985, studies show that these fields were able to suppress metabolism.

With his team, Dr. Heroux also discovered that at levels over 160 nT, magnetic fields have been shown to affect sperm production and male fertility, reducing production by 50% between 1973 and 2013. Moreover, recent research showed that prenatal exposure to power frequency fields can triple a pregnant woman’s risk of miscarriage.

Another explanation to the effect of EMFs on us is that magnetic fields can change the transparency of the water channel inside our bodies. This channel is used by the enzyme ATP which lets our protons pass through. The EMF field therefore makes it harder for the protons to pass through this water channel, inciting certain system-wide consequences, from promoting chronic disease and infertility to lowering intelligence.

Magnetic fields

Héroux essentially believes that EMFs greatly increase oxidative stress, which damages proteins and cell membranes and breaks the bonds of our DNA.

A study published in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine states that excessive oxidative stress causes chronic inflammation, which in turn causes many diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

It is most unfortunate for us that we are surrounded by fields of dangerous EMFs all the time and everywhere. Thus, it would be wiser to turn off as much EMF interference in your area when you go to sleep, such as wireless routers, microwaves, high-powered cellphones, and even your television.
